An Environmental Attribute (EA) is the general term used to describe the environmental benefit associated with a renewable energy project. Each MWh of electricity generated from a project also generates an associated EA. EAs are a bookkeeping tool that allows for tracking of the positive environmental impact of a project and govern who can ‘claim’ consumption of the renewable electricity.
