- Calgary
A lot has happened in Canada's renewable energy world in the short time since BRC-Canada's last forum. Find out what's new and what's just over the horizon for power purchase agreements in the Canadian market. This conference, for BRC-Canada participants only, is a good chance to reconnect with the buyers and developers working towards the same sustainability goals.
The agenda is under development - check back for more additions as we get closer to the date!
FORUM AGENDA
Welcome and Opening Remarks 8:30 - 9:00 a.m.
Jorden Dye, Director, BRC-Canada
John Van Ham, Senior Director, Industrial Decarbonization, Pembina Institute
Panel #1: Expanding PPA Opportunities in Canada
Vittoria Bellissimo, CEO, Canadian Renewable Energy Association
Jason Chee-Aloy, Managing Director, Power Advisory
Join experts in the renewable energy industry as we examine growing opportunities for PPAs in Canadian jurisdictions. What is available, what is coming down the line, and how are changes in the Alberta market shifting incentives?
Table Talk Session
Following the panel on PPA opportunities, the group will network and dig deeper into specific jurisdictions of interest.
Panel #2: Advanced PPA Strategies
The PPA landscape is evolving. While most companies begin their journey with annual matching, PPA leaders in the space are looking beyond that to improve their sustainability claims. Join us for a discussion of the most common alternatives to annual matching and find out which path is best for your firm.
Workshop: Power Purchase Strategies
BRC-Canada has developed a custom diagnostic tool for buyers and developers to help map out the next phase of your PPA journey. Buyers will learn more about the different strategies, the pros and cons, and which option fits your corporate strategy best. Developers will get to hear from buyers and work through how they can best position their projects to match these shifting objectives.
Barriers to Action
You may remember at last year's forum, the BRC-Canada community crowd-sourced the most pressing issues facing the PPA market, and our participants correctly anticipated Alberta government actions months ahead of the moratorium. Make sure you attend our last session, during which we will work as a group again to surface the most pressing challenges facing the PPA market.
